With the world premiere of “ART IN THE SKY – Inspired by Düsseldorf”, AO Multimedia & Drones transformed the night sky into a monumental canvas for art.

1,000 drones brought contemporary and pop art into an entirely new dimension — including The Bunnyman by Johnny Depp and James Francis Gill’s iconic Marilyn Monroe, presented in celebration of her 100th birthday.

Combining art, music, technology and emotional animations in the sky, the production demonstrated how the sky can become a powerful new exhibition space — visible to thousands, amplified by media and social reach, and open to unique collaborations between artists, cultural institutions, sponsors and brands.

This way, ART IN THE SKY is more than a drone show. AO Multimedia & Drones has developed a new platform for artists and their works, whereby drone technology serves as the new means of artistic expression, and the sky as the canvas.

SHOW No. 2 – “Düsseldorf feiert”

As a second highlight of the Rheinkirmes Düsseldorf 2026, AO Multimedia & Drones presented “Düsseldorf feiert”, a spectacular drone production created in combination with the traditional closing fireworks. While “ART IN THE SKY” explored the night sky as a new space for art and culture, “Düsseldorf feiert” transformed it into an emotional celebration of the city — demonstrating the creative versatility and impact of drone-based visual worlds across different formats and audiences.
