AO Drones goes Wacken – Drones meet Metal

A thunderous tribute in the sky at the world’s most legendary rock and metal festival. This year, AO Drones brought its signature sky power to Wacken Open Air, delivering not one – but three spectacular shows for over 85,000 metalheads, live and loud in the famous Wacken mud.

First, we supported the iconic Guns N’ Roses with a tailored drone experience.

Then, we created a heartfelt and globally resonant tribute to the one and only Ozzy Osbourne – a true legend of heavy metal.

And finally, together with our creative partners BUNTMETALL, Jerry Appelt Lichtdesign, and the WOA founders Holger Hübner and Thomas Jensen, we launched the epic 2026 Line-Up Pre-Announcement Show, featuring bands like Def Leppard, Savatage, In Flames, Powerwolf and more.

Once again, AO set new standards with the world’s most advanced drone technology:
